Distinguished Programs Appoints Kristen Ostermayer as Vice President of Business Development/Industry Relations for Fine Art and Collectibles Program
NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Distinguished Programs (“Distinguished”), a national insurance program administrator and MGA, has appointed Kristen Ostermayer as Vice President of Business Development/Industry Relations for the East Region within its Fine Art and Collectibles program.
Based in South Florida, Ostermayer will be responsible for building broker relationships and expanding the program’s presence across the East Region. She brings a strong background in both the art and insurance industries, with experience in risk assessment, claims adjustment and client retention. She is also a technical expert in art materials and is known for delivering white-glove, bespoke service for large and complex private collections.
“Kristen’s combination of technical expertise and client-first mindset aligns perfectly with our approach to serving the fine art and collectibles market,” said Patrick Drummond, president of the Fine Art and Collectibles program. “She strengthens our ability to deliver thoughtful, high-touch solutions to brokers and their clients across the Eastern U.S.”
Prior to joining Distinguished, Ostermayer spent twenty years in the art field having held fine art specialist roles at PURE Art Services (previously Haven Art Group) and Doyle Auctioneers & Appraisers. In those positions, she worked directly with insureds/clients, advising on risk selection, insurance to value, loss prevention strategies, and accurate collections claims adjusting. She also held curatorial positions in Washington, DC within the White House Historical Association and Smithsonian National Museum of American History.
“I’m excited to join Distinguished and be part of a team that truly values expertise, service and partnership,” Ostermayer said. “I look forward to working closely with brokers to deliver tailored solutions that protect and preserve their clients’ most valued collections.”
Ostermayer holds a degree in art history from the College of the Holy Cross. She also earned a Master of Arts with distinction in the history of decorative arts and design from the Corcoran School of the Arts and Design at George Washington University and was a visiting American Material Culture Fellow at The University of Virginia’s Summer Program in conjunction with the Museum of Early Southern Decorative Arts in Winston-Salem, NC. She is expected to graduate magna cum laude from Harvard in May with a Master of Liberal Arts degree in Museum Studies with a focus on implementing new protocols to promote more sustainable and risk-adverse institutional loan programs.
