Swoverland and Mitchell join a deeply talented team at Hatch with a clear long-term vision for responsible growth in the Bank–fintech partnership ecosystem. In the past year, Hatch has established itself at the forefront of the sponsor banking industry, doubling its lending partnerships and nearly tripling its earnings from 2024 to 2025.
“Hatch Bank already has an outstanding team: leaders with deep fintech expertise and a shared commitment to responsible, growth-oriented fintech partnerships. Its clarity of vision and long-term investment in the fintech industry as a purpose-built sponsor bank is what drew me here,” Swoverland said. “I’m energized to join a group of executives who understand the unique responsibilities of sponsorship banking. I look forward to working with them to deepen partner relationships and build on the strong foundation already in place.”
Over the past two decades, Swoverland has built a reputation as a trusted operator and relationship-centric executive whose approach blends partnership strategy with strong regulatory alignment. Prior to joining Hatch, she most recently served as Chief Compliance Officer at Unit Finance and previously held numerous senior leadership positions at Sunrise Banks. Her focus at Hatch will be on strengthening bank-fintech partnerships, enhancing alignment across teams, and ensuring the Bank remains a trusted and transparent partner to fintechs, regulators, and the communities it serves.
“Amanda and Fran bring proven experience in fintech banking, risk and asset / liability management, and regulatory compliance to Hatch as the Bank continues to strengthen operations and accelerate our growth,” said Richard Green, Chairman of Hatch Bank and of Firstrust Bank, Hatch’s parent organization. “Fintechs often struggle to receive timely, transparent, and consultative decisions from their banking partner, creating unpredictable experiences. Together Amanda and Fran will drive forward Hatch’s mission to build a bank that is decisive, nimble, and unwaveringly customer- centric."
Amanda will report to Timothy J. Abell, Hatch CEO and CEO of Firstrust Bank, which has had remarkable success over its first 92 years of family ownership.
Mitchell joins Hatch Bank after most recently serving as Managing Partner at Rock Creek Partners and Chief Financial Officer at BankFund Credit Union. Throughout his career as a banking leader, he has established a track record of modernizing finance functions, strengthening regulatory relationships, and establishing forward-looking financial strategies. His extensive experience in balance sheet and liquidity management and regulatory affairs will be invaluable to Hatch as the Bank continues to scale operations while maintaining a commitment to regulatory safety and soundness.
Both Swoverland and Mitchell will further Hatch’s commitment to being a relationship-focused, transparent, and reliable bank partner that communicates clearly, makes decisions efficiently, and operates with consistency. To learn more about Hatch Bank, visit www.hatchbank.com.
