Specialty food distributor aims to improve availability, reduce waste, and unify planning across 49 distribution centers

ATLANTA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Chefs’ Warehouse, a specialty wholesale food distributor serving customers across North America and globally, has selected RELEX Solutions, a provider of unified supply chain and retail planning solutions, to optimize forecasting and replenishment across its 49 distributions centers. With a focus on fresh food categories, the company will use RELEX to drive operational efficiency and support continued growth.

With more than 88,000 SKUs across multiple business units, Chefs’ Warehouse distributes specialty food products to restaurants, hotels, country clubs, and fine food retailers. Operating in a fast-moving market, the company faces challenges coordinating planning across multiple ERP environments. To support its continued expansion, Chefs’ Warehouse looked for solutions to unify demand planning, improve product availability, and reduce food waste.

Chefs’ Warehouse chose RELEX for its proven strength in fresh food planning and its ability to unify operations across complex distribution networks. With RELEX, Chefs’ Warehouse will improve visibility across all demand channels and establish a centralized approach to allocation and replenishment governance. The solution also supports the modeling of hub-and-spoke distribution scenarios to better align inventory across a dynamic network.

“We’re focused on driving greater efficiency and consistency across our fast-moving, fresh-driven supply chain,” said Ken Klauser, VP of Supply Chain and Pricing at Chefs’ Warehouse. “RELEX brings the expertise and tools we need to unify planning across our network and support our long-term growth.”

“Chefs’ Warehouse operates in one of the most demanding segments of food distribution, where accuracy and speed are critical,” said Frank Lord, Chief Revenue Officer at RELEX Solutions. “Our deep capabilities in fresh food planning, combined with a strong track record and broad customer base in food wholesale, gave them the confidence that we could deliver at scale and help them reach their operational goals.”
