Ares Management Appoints Anup Agarwal as Head and Chief Investment Officer of Ares Insurance Solutions

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Ares Management Corporation (“Ares”) (NYSE: ARES), a leading global alternative investment manager, announced today that Anup Agarwal has joined the firm as a Partner and the new Head and Chief Investment Officer of Ares Insurance Solutions (“AIS”). Mr. Agarwal will work alongside newly appointed AIS Chairman David Reilly and former AIS Chief Investment Officer Rajesh Krishnan, who will transition his efforts to expanding third-party insurance asset management and origination.

Mr. Agarwal brings more than 25 years of investment experience to AIS, where he will lead the investing activities for Ares with respect to Aspida Holdings Ltd. (“Aspida”), a life insurance and annuity company with over $23 billion in total assets, as of June 30, 2025, and for which AIS acts as its dedicated investment management, capital solutions and corporate development partner. Mr. Agarwal will also support the continued expansion of AIS investment solutions for third-party insurance clients. He joins Ares from Global Atlantic Financial Group, where he most recently served as Senior Investment Advisor after nearly six years as Chief Investment Officer and was responsible for managing its more than $200 billion insurance platform and driving its investment capabilities in origination, structuring, execution and management across all asset classes. Prior to joining Global Atlantic Financial Group in 2019, Mr. Agarwal served as Head of Structured Credit and Loan Strategy at Western Asset Management.

“We continue to see an expanding opportunity to provide insurers with tailored solutions as they navigate complex and evolving challenges in today’s market,” said Kipp deVeer, Co-President of Ares. “We believe Anup is a significant addition to AIS and the broader Ares organization as we look to be a partner in seeking attractive yield and asset diversification to our more than 250 insurance clients.”

“We are very excited to welcome an executive of Anup’s caliber to lead the AIS team,” said Mr. Reilly. “Ares has been a valued partner and investment manager to insurers for decades, leveraging our direct origination and investment selection capabilities. I look forward to working with Anup to drive the next phase of growth at AIS and to support the needs of Aspida and our third-party insurance clients.”

“I’m honored to join the AIS team at a time of exciting change and innovation in the insurance industry,” said Mr. Agarwal. “I am eager to collaborate with my new Ares colleagues to support our clients and capitalize on the opportunities ahead.”
