AM Best to Participate at Reinsurance Association of America’s Re Underwriting 2025

OLDWICK, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--AM Best will deliver a presentation at the Reinsurance Association of America’s (RAA) “Re Underwriting 2025: The Art and Science of Reinsurance Underwriting – Fundamentals and Current Issues,” event, which will take place Sept. 4-5, 2025, in New York, NY, at The Westin Grand Central Hotel.

AM Best Director Greg Dickerson will lead a session, titled, “Financial Analysis: Evaluating Balance Sheet Strength and Counterparty Risk,” during which he will discuss how AM Best evaluates the financial strength of property/casualty insurers and reinsurers, focusing on key balance sheet metrics and qualitative factors. The session also will outline the essential components to consider when assessing counterparty risk. Dickerson has been with AM Best since 2017 and manages a ratings portfolio for a group of domestic and multinational property/casualty (re)insurers, including global reinsurers and major writers of commercial lines business. The session is scheduled for 9:45 a.m.-10:45 a.m. (EDT) on Friday, Sept. 5.

Re Underwriting is an education forum for reinsurance and insurance professionals who want to learn more about the reinsurance underwriting process and current issues affecting the industry. Sessions introduce the fundamentals of reinsurance underwriting with an emphasis on how and why underwriters gather and evaluate information in preparing to offer coverage.
