OLDWICK, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--AM Best will participate in a panel discussion at the Casualty Actuarial Society’s (CAS) Spring Meeting, which will take place May 4-7, 2025, in Toronto.

Alan Murray, director, AM Best, will join a session on Monday, May 5, titled, “State of the Property/Casualty Insurance Industry and Future Outlook in The United States and Canada,” which will examine key differences actuaries face in working for companies that do business in both countries. This panel will compare the United States and Canada insurance industries with a focus on the industry outlooks and hot topics, including tariff-related implications, as well as ratemaking, regulatory environments and catastrophe risks. Murray joined AM Best in 2021 with decades of experience in the insurance industry, and oversees a team of analysts responsible for the credit ratings of property/casualty and life/annuity insurers, with an emphasis on larger and more-complex national and global multiline carriers. The panel session is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. EDT.

This year’s CAS Spring Meeting is themed as “Reach New Peaks” and aims to provide insights on artificial intelligence, climate risks and auto insurance challenges. CAS is the world’s only actuarial organization focused exclusively on property/casualty risks and serves over 10,000 members worldwide.
