Holon Health Expands Operations to Virginia to Combat the State’s $5 Billion Opioid Crisis by Providing Evidence-Based Solutions for Virginians Suffering from Substance Use Disorder

VA residents can now enroll in Holon Health’s program that leverages collaborative care, contingency management, and Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT) to support clients through their recovery journey

Use of the company’s program leads to a 65%+ show rate, a 61-day increase in sober days, and a 7%+ reduction in positive drug test rates

RICHMOND, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Holon Health, a multi-specialty provider including primary care and psychiatry that bridges the gaps in care for people with substance use disorder (SUD) by providing health evaluations and care plan management, announced the expansion of its program to Virginia, adding to its presence in Indiana and Arizona.

“In Virginia, the burden of the opioid epidemic falls on everyone within a community – individuals, families, businesses, and local/state/federal governments. We cannot talk about this crisis without understanding the massive emotional, financial, and mental impact across communities,” said Jason Herzog, Co-Founder and CEO of Holon Health. “To begin to move towards the future we want to see, we need to identify evidence-based treatments that can save lives and bring down costs. At Holon Health, we are taking a solution-focused approach that leads to longer-term engagement in treatment, which is vital because we know that high dropout rates align with higher relapse and recidivism rates. With the combination of our digital therapeutic app, Holon Vibe, and a collaborative approach to an individual’s care, we seek to remove the unnecessary barriers to recovery and sobriety – and lay a foundation for a healthier future – for all Virginians.”

The following services are now available to Virginia residents through the Holon Health program:

  • Contingency management: Clients can earn up to $500/year in cash for completing daily therapeutic lessons, attending preventive healthcare appointments, or reaching specific goals.
  • Healthcare services: Convenient telehealth appointments, prescriptions, referrals to specialists, and behavioral healthcare (e.g., Solution-Focused Therapy and LCSW support).
  • Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT): Therapeutic lessons are based on a proprietary forward-looking version of cognitive behavioral therapy that focuses on solutions and goals.
  • Recovery support: Coaching from certified Peer Recovery Specialists and lessons that promote coping skills, problem-solving, and pro-social behavior.
  • Multi-lingual: Content is available in English and Spanish.

“We’re looking forward to partnering with Holon Health and giving our clients access to their whole-health services because access to interventions, resources, treatment, and incentives has been proven to improve outcomes for both the individual and the community. This partnership will enhance our mission to provide opportunities for success for our clients,” said W. Ross Carew III, OAR-Jefferson Area Community Corrections Executive Director.

Holon Health currently provides services to clients in Arizona, Indiana, and Virginia, with more states scheduled to be added throughout 2025.
