Resident Events Boost Military Family Well-Being

In-person connection fosters community in military housing

WARWICK, R.I.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Corvias Property Management demonstrates a commitment to fostering vibrant and supportive communities for service members and their families through a series of fall events across its seven Army installations. The annual events highlight Corvias’ dedication to enhancing the quality of life for residents and creating spaces where neighbors can connect and thrive.

“At Corvias, we recognize the unique challenges that military families face, and we prioritize creating spaces where they can connect, celebrate, and build lasting memories,” said Denise Hauck, senior vice president of property operations at Corvias. “The sense of community fostered through these gatherings is invaluable.”

From pumpkin patches to movie nights, Corvias’ Fallapalooza celebrations bring residents together for seasonal fun.

  • Fort Riley, KS: Families enjoyed a lively Fallapalooza featuring game tables, temporary tattoos, hot dogs, nachos, cotton candy, and a pumpkin patch where children picked and painted pumpkins to take home. The evening ended with a screening of the movie Wish on the big screen.
  • Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD: Hundreds of residents enjoyed petting animals, watching a balloon artist, and learning safety tips, all while indulging in delicious food.
  • Fort Meade, MD: Residents gathered for a movie night, complete with food, games, crafts, and music. Additionally, 350 Halloween goodie bags were distributed to families at community centers.
  • Fort Liberty, NC: Corvias partnered with the USO’s Trunk or Treat event, decorating a fleet vehicle and distributing 2,700 pieces of candy to attendees. The event drew over 3,000 participants.

Resident and community events are more than just seasonal celebrations; they play a crucial role in strengthening the mental health and well-being of military families. Frequent relocation and separation from friends and family often make in-person connections challenging. According to the Blue Star Families 2023 Military Family Lifestyle Survey, military families who engage entirely or mostly in person with their closest relationships report higher overall well-being, regardless of how often they interact. These findings underscore the importance of Corvias community events, which provide opportunities for meaningful in-person connections and community support.

Corvias will continue to focus on initiatives that strengthen relationships, encourage engagement, and celebrate the service and sacrifices of military families.
