Ameris Bank Names Brian Parks Head of Wholesale Banking

ATLANTA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Ameris Bank has promoted Brian Parks to the newly created role of head of Wholesale Banking, reporting to Ameris Bank President Lawton Bassett.

Parks will be based in Atlanta and oversee Treasury Management, Industry Specialty Banking, Commercial Real Estate & Capital Markets, and Corporate Banking, as well as the metro Atlanta market.

Parks joined Ameris in 2020 as regional president covering the majority of the company’s Florida markets spanning from Jacksonville to Orlando to Tampa. He expanded Ameris Bank’s presence throughout Florida, accelerating the bank’s commitment and service to commercial and individual customers.

“Brian has broad banking expertise and a proven ability to lead high performing teams,” said Bassett. “In this newly created position of head of Wholesale Banking, he will spearhead the company’s growth initiatives and build upon our strong commitment to customer service.”

Prior to joining Ameris Bank, Parks worked for SunTrust, now Truist, for 22 years. He progressed through several positions, including Commercial team leader and regional president roles, and became a corporate finance specialist advising middle market companies across the Southeast on complex capital structures.

Parks has a BBA in economics from Mercer University’s Stetson-Hatcher School of Business and attended the Graduate School of Banking at Louisiana State University. He serves on the Florida State College at Jacksonville Foundation Board of Directors where he is immediate past Chair and current Chair of the Committee on Directors. Parks is on the board of the Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce and is a member of the Jacksonville Civic Council and the JAXUSA Partnership.
