Recognizing Pennsylvania’s Over $30M Maternal Health Investments in Action at Media Events

Events celebrate the PA Black Maternal Health Caucus’ first year of impact, hosted by Rep. Morgan Cephas & Rep. Gina H. Curry, Co-chairs of the Pennsylvania Black Maternal Health Caucus

--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jewish Healthcare Foundation:

What:
Over the past year, the PA Black Maternal Health Caucus has secured over $30 million in state funding for maternal health initiatives. Part of that work includes over $5 million in maternal health innovation funds distributed by the Jewish Healthcare Foundation, which serves as the fiscal agent for federal Coronavirus State Fiscal Recovery Funds provided through the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services. Awards have been made under several project categories, as defined by the PA DHS and members of the Black Maternal Health Caucus. All projects are intended to improve maternal health for Pennsylvanians, particularly for non-Hispanic Black populations who experience higher rates of maternal mortality and morbidity.

Three events taking place between October 15 – October 18 will recognize and celebrate the work of the PA Black Maternal Health Caucus and some of the recipients of the funding distributed by the Jewish Healthcare Foundation.

Join in celebrating these accomplishments and support the ongoing fight for equitable maternal health outcomes in Pennsylvania.
