Travelers Introduces Quantum Boat 2.0

Enhanced boat insurance product expands customer eligibility and offers a better quoting experience for agents

HARTFORD, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Travelers Companies, Inc. (NYSE: TRV) today announced the launch of Quantum Boat 2.0, which offers more personalized coverage options through an easy-to-use platform that allows agents to seamlessly quote and bind coverage.

“We built Quantum Boat 2.0 on a highly intuitive platform to help agents increase efficiency and enhance customer service,” said Michael Klein, Executive Vice President and President, Personal Insurance at Travelers. “With new coverage options, expanded boater eligibility and an array of potential discounts, we continue to provide customers with a great experience and a suite of tailored products and services.”

Quantum Boat 2.0 broadens customer eligibility to include principal operators as young as 21 years old and extends coverage to first-time boat owners. Policies are available for multiple boat types, including personal watercraft, center console fishing boats, pontoons, sailboats and classic or antique boats.

Additional features of Quantum Boat 2.0 include:

  • Mechanical Breakdown Coverage Options – can cover losses to inboard and outboard motors, such as wear and tear of the lower unit and machinery, including the mechanical transmission, outdrive and lower unit parts.
  • Boat Replacement Coverage may protect customers if they suffer a total loss within three years of purchasing a new boat.
  • Protection from Underinsured Boaters – offers protection if the insured is involved in an incident with another boater who lacks sufficient coverage.
  • Boat Liability-Only Availability allows consumers to secure liability-only coverage.
  • TravAssist BoatsideTM On-Water Towing – can provide emergency services while afloat.

Policies will provide Travelers’ best-in-class services, including a team dedicated to marine claims, and potential savings opportunities, such as a multi-policy discount.
