Blackstone Credit and Insurance appoints Dan Leiter as Head of International

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Blackstone (NYSE:BX) today announced the appointment of Dan Leiter as Head of International for Blackstone Credit and Insurance (BXCI). In this role, reporting to Gilles Dellaert, Global Head of BXCI, Mr. Leiter will lead the activity and expansion of BXCI in EMEA and APAC. Additionally, Michael Carruthers is appointed as European Head of Private Credit, reporting to Mr. Leiter.

Blackstone is one of the world’s leading credit investors with nearly $420 billion in assets under management across corporate and real estate credit. The investments of BXCI span the credit markets, including direct lending, opportunistic, CLOs, high yield, infrastructure and asset-based credit. BXCI is also a leading provider of investment management services for insurers through its capabilities in investment grade private credit.

Mr. Leiter was previously Global Head of Securitized Products Trading in Morgan Stanley’s Fixed Income Division. Prior to this, he was Head of European Sales and Trading in the Securitized Products Group from 2015 to 2021. Mr. Leiter graduated Phi-Beta-Kappa from Middlebury College.

Mr. Carruthers was previously Co-Chief Investment Officer for BXCI’s European and APAC private credit businesses. He has been with the firm since 2006 working in the Toronto and London offices. Mr. Carruthers graduated with Honors in Business Administration from the Richard Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario.
