Through the partnership with Alpha Technologies, businesses can purchase GMO GlobalSign digital signatures and certificates. These products provide strong security and comply with ARCOTEL interoperability standards and program requirements, which are administered through GMO GlobalSign’s Web Trust audited operation. Digital signatures are utilized by tens of thousands of companies every day for corporate activities such as signing important documents like contracts and invoices in a simpler and less labor-intensive way. GMO GlobalSign recently announced that more than 45 million digital signatures and nearly 50 million timestamps were applied to a broad array of documents in 2023.

"Being granted accreditation is very good news for companies in Ecuador that require a digital signature. Having more providers on the market improves competition, which, as a result, increases the service and offers a better value for the end user," said Mónica Maldonado, Commercial Manager, Alpha Technologies. "As a decade-long partner of GMO GlobalSign, we can attest to the ease-of-use of their products, the availability of a wide variety of certificates as well as a robust Public Key Infrastructure and fantastic customer service. All of these factors made it an easy choice for us to collaborate with them."

Many opportunities for growth exist throughout Latin America for companies in the identity and cybersecurity marketplace. In Ecuador specifically, research firm Statista projects the revenue for the Ecuadorian cybersecurity market through 2028 will reach nearly $50 million USD.

"Alpha Technologies has been a trusted regional enterprise partner for 10 years, so we are very pleased to be collaborating with them on this effort," said Lila Kee, General Manager, Americas, GMO GlobalSign. “Ecuador is the third Latin American country in the last several years to authorize the sale of our digital signature products. We are very pleased to expand our business in this region.”
