Sinclair Broadcast Group’s News Academy Returns in November with Three Virtual Sessions For Students Exploring Careers in Reporting, Producing and Weather

BALTIMORE, Md.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sinclair Broadcast Group today announced the return of Sinclair’s News Reporter and Producer Academies, a series of interactive, virtual workshops for college students interested in pursuing careers in journalism. This year, Sinclair will also add Weather Academy, a workshop for students interested in a career in weather. The 90-minute sessions will run throughout November and assist students seeking to build a career in reporting, producing or weather.

SESSION DATES:

Reporter Academy - November 1,
Producer Academy - November 8,
Weather Academy - November 15.
Each session will take place virtually, from Noon – 1:30p ET

Sinclair’s Reporter Academy, now in its third year, is hosted by Sinclair’s award-winning news operation, giving students an opportunity to learn about Sinclair’s modern content centers and interact with the company’s industry-leading teams. Students will learn the basics of reporting and investigative storytelling across multiple platforms, and how to package a resume and reel.

Sinclair’s Producer Academy, now in its sixth year, is a workshop for students interested in pursuing a career as a digital or broadcast news producer.

This year, Sinclair has expanded the session programming to include weather, with presentations for the Weather Academy from meteorologists detailing multiplatform weather coverage.

These three free virtual workshops are open to undergraduate and graduate college students. Students must register in advance, by November 1 at:
