D.A. Davidson Strengthens Institutional Equities Team with Three Senior New Hires: Glen Sulam, Kevin DeThomas, and Alex Gamache

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--D.A. Davidson & Co. is pleased to announce the hiring of Glen Sulam, Kevin DeThomas, and Alex Gamache by the Equity Capital Markets group. Following the addition of Head of Equities Liam Healy in March 2023, this expansion demonstrates D.A. “Each of our new hires strengthens D.A. Davidson’s ability to better distribute our new proprietary products such as the Best-of-Breed Bison (durable franchises), Davidson Engage, or DEN (industry pundit subscription model), and Stampede (risk/arb, event-driven product),” said Rory McKinney, President of Equity Capital Markets at D.A. Davidson. “In doing so, we should be able to expand market share and increase our relevance with our buy side partners.”

Based in New York, Sulam serves as D.A. Davidson’s Head of Trading. Sulam has over 30 years of experience in trading operations across big bulge, regional, and specialty trading shops and was most recently at William Blair & Company. Prior to William Blair, Sulam served as Head of Trading at UBS for over 5 years; he was employed at UBS for a total of 17 years. He is a cum laude graduate of Georgetown University with a degree in Finance.

Also based in New York, DeThomas joins D.A. Davidson as Managing Director, Institutional Equities Trading. He has extensive experience as a position trader in the consumer and technology sectors, and spent his prior 16+ years at William Blair, most notably as Head of Electronic Trading since 2016. DeThomas graduated from Syracuse University’s Martin J. Whitman School of Management with a Master of Business Administration in Finance, and St. John’s University with a Bachelor of Science in Business/Corporate Communications.

Gamache joins D.A. Davidson in Chicago as Vice President, Institutional Equities Sales. Prior, he worked on William Blair’s Institutional Equities team. Gamache graduated from Georgetown University with a bachelor’s degree, majoring in finance and minoring in theology.

“We believe the caliber and collective experience of Sulam, DeThomas, and Gamache will translate into increased institutional relevance for our overall equity offering,” added Liam Healy, Head of Institutional Equities at D.A. Davidson. “Each are excellent cultural fits and should serve as important catalysts as we continue to grow our business with our clients.”
