Oasis Names Junichi Maruyama to Advisory Council

HONG KONG--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oasis Management Company Ltd. (“Oasis”) is pleased to announce that Junichi Maruyama has joined its Advisory Council.

Mr. Maruyama brings a wealth of experience and expertise related to financial market regulation and international affairs, having worked for the Japanese government in the Ministry of Finance (MOF) and the Financial Services Agency (FSA) for over 30 years, including as Deputy Commissioner for International Affairs at the FSA. During that time, he was also seconded to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) twice, first as Assistant Financial Attaché in the Embassy of Japan in Washington, D.C. and later as Deputy Director-General of the European Affairs Bureau in MOFA’s Headquarters, as well as seconded to the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). He served as Managing Director and Head of Government Affairs at Citigroup Japan from 2010 to 2017, before accepting the appointment as the Ambassador of Japan to the Republics of Serbia and Montenegro from 2017 to 2020.

Mr. Maruyama joins current Oasis Advisory Council members including Masaharu Hino, the former Commissioner of the Japan FSA, and Martin Wheatley, the former Chief Executive Officer of the U.K. Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and Chief Executive Officer of the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission (SFC).
