Suffolk Leader Michael Piscitello Earns National Design-Build Certification

Senior Project Manager at Suffolk joins a growing industry of Design-Build Professionals redefining how America builds

LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Suffolk, one of the largest and most innovative real estate and construction enterprises in the country, today announced that Michael Piscitello, Senior Project Manager at Suffolk Los Angeles, has earned a National Design-Build Certification, the nation’s only measurable standard of an individual’s knowledge of the Design-Build Done Right® principles that are vital to successful project delivery.

Mr. Piscitello successfully completed the Design-Build Institute of America’s comprehensive education and certification testing program to achieve the design-build industry’s highest designation as a nationally certified Design-Build Professional®. The program educates both owners, designers and builders on team-centered approaches to design and construction. Owners want successfully executed design-build projects and are looking for a demonstration of relevant continuing education and experience — both of which can be gained through DBIA certification. By completing these requirements, which touch on all aspects of design-build, candidates earn the right to include “DBIA” after their names, identifying them as experienced design-build professionals. Mr. Piscitello’s certification is paired with several years of experience in design-build project delivery.

“Suffolk congratulates Michael on his professional achievement, and we look forward to leveraging his knowledge and expertise to continue innovating the way we build,” says Ken Summers, General Manager of Suffolk Los Angeles. “Continued education through programs like DBIA are critical for Suffolk as we invest in innovation, and employees like Mr. Piscitello exemplify our dedication to redefining what’s possible in the built world.”

In his time at Suffolk, Mr. Piscitello has supported project development across many sectors, including commercial real estate, affordable housing, mixed-use developments and more. In his current role as senior project manager, he leads teams both on and offsite to drive development forward throughout the lifecycle of a project. Mr. Piscitello has supported the development of several notable projects in the region including 1500 Granville, a mixed-use residence for UCLA medical students, and Fig + Pico, a mixed-use hotel duo in Downtown Los Angeles.

Suffolk takes pride in its experienced leadership team and their determination to continuously improve skillsets to leverage core construction services, providing faster, more efficient project developments across Southern California. With several projects and pursuits in the region, Suffolk Los Angeles has positioned itself as a leader in the construction space and collaborative partner of team members like Mr. Piscitello.
