Kizik Names Wendy Yang, Former HOKA Brand President, as Board Member

The footwear revolution grows as Kizik sells one millionth pair, plans new launches

SALT LAKE CITY--()--Kizik, the industry leader in hands-free footwear technology, announces that Wendy Yang, who recently stepped down as President of HOKA, has been appointed to the company’s Board of Directors.

“We are thrilled to welcome Wendy to the Kizik team as we continue to innovate, develop new hands-free technologies, and reinvent how shoes are made and worn,” said Kizik CEO Monte Deere. “Wendy’s experience leading well-known, successful footwear brands will be invaluable. She knows what it looks like to build a billion-dollar brand, and her insights already are helping us optimize and execute our plans to do the same.”

Yang has over 20 years of experience in the footwear industry, growing and scaling global brands. After joining HOKA in 2015, she quickly got to work repositioning the brand and building out market-leading strategies and teams. Yang’s leadership resulted in HOKA becoming one of the fastest-growing performance brands in history, scaling from $70M to $1B in revenue in her seven years at the helm. During that time she also oversaw Teva, which recaptured the number-one sports sandal position in the US while delivering record revenue and profit. Yang had previously held senior-level positions with New Balance, Timberland, and Tommy Hilfiger Footwear. She began her footwear career at Reebok.

“I’m thrilled to join the Kizik board and very much look forward to lending my experience to Monte and his team,” Yang said. “I’m tremendously impressed with all that they have accomplished in such a short amount of time. Kizik is a disruptor brand and in many ways is just getting started!”
