Rocket Software’s Rocket.Build Hackathon Returns with a Focus on Innovating to Simplify Complex Challenges

The one-day event is designed to inspire innovation that delivers legendary impact in the world

WALTHAM, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Rocket Software, a global technology leader that develops enterprise software for some of the world’s largest companies, is hosting its annual Rocket.Build hackathon event on November 10, 2022. In its 9th year, Rocket.Build aims to bring together Rocket Software employees, customers, partners and its student ecosystem to innovate to make technology more seamless, enhance the customer experience and continue to create a welcoming environment.

After a record-breaking year for participation in 2021, Rocket.Build 2022 will focus on projects that make complex challenges simpler and expand focus beyond code-dependent projects. Participants will focus on projects that introduce improvements to an existing Rocket Software process and are tasked with innovating around three suggested themes:

  • Technology Modernization
    • Participants may demonstrate how to adapt infrastructure, data and applications to current trends and concerns. Projects will focus on customer information control system (CICS) modernization, modernizing mainframe interfaces and developing and implementing a global license key methodology.
  • Customer Retention
    • Participants may work to strengthen the connection between Rocket Software and its customers with layered challenges in hybrid, cloud and software. Projects will focus on software version reporting, hybrid cloud innovation and branding.
  • Working Experience
    • Participants may innovate to create a workspace that uplifts the working experience. Projects will focus on diversity and inclusion, the onboarding process and reducing the carbon footprint of Rocket Software products and operations.

Nearly 150 teams will participate in Rocket.Build 2022, representing seven different Rocket Software departments, including finance, legal, research and development and marketing. The event is being held across 11 countries, including the United States, China, Spain, Switzerland and Singapore, and various partner companies will also participate. Participants will be judged by local employees, and finalists will present their projects to Rocket Software’s Executive Leadership Team, who will pick the overall winners of Rocket.Build 2022.

“For more than 30 years, Rocket Software has been dedicated to innovation and collaboration. Rocket.Build is an extraordinary event that brings together our entire ecosystem to solve some of today’s toughest challenges,” said Milan Shetti, president and CEO, Rocket Software. “I am eager and excited to see the solutions that participants develop during the event and look forward to implementing them in the years to come.”
