SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Groove, a market-leading sales engagement platform for enterprises using Salesforce®, today announced the appointment of Mohit Lad to the company’s Board of Directors. Mohit currently serves as general manager of ThousandEyes, a Cisco company.
After co-founding ThousandEyes in 2010, he led the company to an acquisition by Cisco in August 2020 and now runs Cisco ThousandEyes as general manager of the Networking Assurance business unit. Under Mohit’s leadership, ThousandEyes has become an integral part of Cisco’s software strategy.
“The experience and unique insights Mohit has gained from starting and scaling ThousandEyes to an acquisition make him the perfect partner to support our rapid growth,” said Chris Rothstein, CEO of Groove. “From the very first time I met Mohit, I knew that he could be instrumental in helping take Groove to the next level, so it’s a huge honor to welcome him to Groove as a member of our board.”
“The market for enterprise sales engagement platforms is still in the early stages, and Groove has staked out a clear leadership position built on tremendous growth, strong fundamentals, and a fanatical customer base that is very passionate about Groove and its future,” said Mohit Lad, General Manager, Cisco ThousandEyes. “Groove has all the elements to be the next sales tech leader, and I’m excited to help Groove scale efficiently during this high-growth stage.”
Forrester Research recently named Groove a leader in sales engagement in “The Forrester Wave™: Sales Engagement Platforms, Q3 2022“ report and cited the platform as “best for global enterprises seeking to better understand buyer interactions and optimize seller productivity in highly compliant industries.”
“Groove’s product roadmap continues to focus on innovating for the enterprise by building out its interaction engine and guided-selling capabilities,” the report states. “Reference customers believe they have market-leading capabilities across the board and are likely to refer Groove to peers or enterprises.”
Mohit Lad received a Ph.D. in Computer Science from UCLA, where he worked on building systems for Internet fault diagnosis and security. Following just over a year of industry experience with a startup and Nokia, in January 2010, Mohit started ThousandEyes with his Ph.D. colleague Ricardo Oliveira with the vision of building a Google Maps for the Internet. Mohit and Ricardo bootstrapped ThousandEyes with a small NSF grant and focused on growing the company through customer acquisition. During the process, they attracted top venture firms such as Sequoia Capital, Sutter Hill Ventures, Google Ventures, and several others, eventually resulting in a successful sale to Cisco.
