EQ Office Names Britton Derkac National Head of Leasing

Newly created position underscores company’s commitment to best-in-class customer experience

CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--EQ Office, a leader in creating inspiring workplace destinations and a Blackstone portfolio company, today announced company veteran Britton Derkac has been named Senior Vice President and National Head of Leasing. The appointment is part of the company's strategy to deliver a best-in-class leasing experience for new and existing customers across regions. The creation of a dedicated leasing function will enhance EQ’s operating capabilities nationwide to maximize value for its partners and benefit the communities within which it operates.

Derkac brings nearly 20 years of commercial real estate experience to the role, the last 14 of which he spent with EQ Office, focused on leasing and portfolio management duties across multiple markets including most recently Boston, Chicago, Nashville, and Washington D.C. In his new role, Derkac will oversee all leasing activity within the EQ portfolio. He will also manage strategic customer and broker relationships to help drive customer retention and new business development.

“Brit brings an incredible depth of experience to this new and crucial role in our platform. His dedication to our partners makes him the ideal candidate and representative of the EQ Office brand,” said Alex Vouvalides, Chief Executive Officer at EQ Office. “We’re confident that under Brit’s leadership, EQ will continue to help companies attract, retain, and inspire talent by creating effective work environments.”

Derkac most recently served as Senior Vice President, Portfolio Director at EQ Office, where he oversaw value creation efforts in addition to supporting the acquisition and disposition strategies for EQ. This year, he has overseen a number of significant leases across the EQ Office portfolio, including bringing a new concept from Crafted Hospitality and chef Tom Colicchio to Market Square in Washington D.C.

“I am excited to take this next step in my journey at EQ Office, especially during such a pivotal moment in the industry,” said Derkac. “As the workplace continues to evolve, EQ Office has an opportunity to shape the customer experience – to become a strategic partner that works to deliver value and design space that not only fits – but exceeds future needs.”
