Rave Mobile Safety’s AppArmor Anonymous Tip Solution Deployed Statewide in Oklahoma

Latest collaboration furthers school safety across the state

FRAMINGHAM, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Rave Mobile Safety, trusted provider of technology solutions that enhance critical communications, increase resiliency, and improve safety, will now provide its AppArmor solution to K-12 and charter schools across the state of Oklahoma.

AppArmor’s custom-branded mobile safety, emergency notification, and hazard response apps have proven both scalable and effective in helping people during times of crisis. Oklahoma’s adoption of AppArmor comes after it was determined that an existing anonymous tip line solution, underwritten by a three-year Homeland Security Grant, was not being used by schools in the state. The Oklahoma School Safety Institute and Oklahoma School Division made the decision to pivot and power the schools’ anonymous tip program with AppArmor for the remainder of the grant period, which culminates at the end of 2023.

In the spirit of “see something, say something,” students, staff, and parents in Oklahoma can now confidentially share concerns about safety threats via AppArmor’s anonymous tip feature. Because it is fully custom branded and easy to use, AppArmor garners 50-to-100 times more downloads than other vendor-branded apps.

Rave Mobile Safety is no stranger to Oklahoma schools, and vice versa. Rave Panic Button, a safety app that communicates emergencies to 9-1-1, on-site staff, and first responders for integrated and immediate response, is already used in the state’s 1,845 K-12 public and charter schools. Currently, 92.4% of schools have opted in to use the Rave Panic Button app and nearly 88% of school personnel have set up “geo-fenced” rules for their campus, named their buildings, and added staff members into the system. In fact, Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt is a big proponent of the innovative safety solution and directed all schools to implement Rave Panic Button by September 1 amid heightened safety concerns.

With this deployment, Oklahoma joins Florida and Hawaii to becomes the latest state to offer AppArmor’s anonymous tipping solution.
