Help;Hear;Heal Launches to Provide Grants for Mental Health Services for Sexual Abuse Survivors

A first of its kind partnership with leading mental health company Thriveworks will provide survivors with access to quality counseling services nationwide

BOSTON--()--Help;Hear;Heal, a nonprofit dedicated to providing survivors of sexual abuse with funding for therapeutic treatment has launched a collaboration with founding partner Thriveworks, a leading mental health company with 340+ clinics nationwide offering quality counseling and psychiatric services in person or online.

This is the first such partnership for both entities and could serve as a revolutionary model for partnerships between private healthcare companies and nonprofit organizations in the mental health space.

Founded by tech executive Todd McKay after his own family was impacted by sexual abuse, Help;Hear;Heal provides scholarship grants to underwrite the therapeutic care survivors need.

The partnership with Thriveworks will enable survivors of sexual abuse, who have come to Help;Hear;Heal directly or through referral to access quality counseling through Thriveworks’ network of mental health providers across 42 states and Washington, D.C.

Todd McKay, Founder and President of Help;Hear;Heal, said, “Through my own family’s experience, I have seen how the stigma of sexual abuse and the challenges of accessing mental health care due to prohibitive cost, lack of access or both, can make it really difficult for survivors and their families to gain the therapeutic care they desperately need.”

“We’re working to break down the stigma and remove any barriers so more survivors of sexual abuse can receive the tools to live a life worth living,” McKay continued.

David Drap, Executive Vice President of External Partnerships at Thriveworks, said, “We were moved by Help;Hear;Heal’s mission and are proud to support their goals in making high-quality mental health services more accessible to sexual abuse survivors at the scale Thriveworks’ footprint provides.”

While typical wait times for mental health care can be between four and six weeks, Thriveworks’ three to five-day turnaround policy ensures survivors are connected to the care they need fast. They will have the option of booking and attending appointments in person or online, access to extended hour scheduling assistance and flexible cancellations.

Help;Hear;Heal is supported by philanthropy, fundraising events, and merchandise. Help;Hear;Heal will be hosting its first-ever charity 5K run/walk in Winthrop, Massachusetts. Details will be released on our website in the coming weeks.
