University of Nottingham Ningbo China Unlocks Exceptional Students’ Potential Through Its International Studies Course

NINGBO, China--(BUSINESS WIRE)--In a rapidly changing global context, the importance of International Studies (IS) is becoming more evident. With high quality teaching staff and world class research outcomes, the University of Nottingham Ningbo China’s (UNNC) IS course provides a unique platform for students to understand and contribute to the global community, helping them explore their passion, unlock their potential, and become real international citizens of the future.

Incorporating knowledge of international relations, history, political sciences, sociology and regional research, international studies is an innovative and constantly changing subject. In 2020, UNNC’s IS course was ranked number one along with that of Fudan University and Peking University as a first-class five-star politics discipline by Alumni Association China. The module “Diplomacy” of the programme is also recognized as a Provincial-Level First-Class Undergraduate Module.

As a result of global recruitment schemes at the University of Nottingham, the course has international staff from approximately ten countries and regions around the world, among them fellows of the Royal Historical Society and Royal Society of Arts, whose research interests cover a wide range of areas from comparative politics, international relations theory, environment and energy security, world history to contemporary Chinese studies. This diverse group of teaching fellows contributes to IS’s high-quality module offer which is unique in China.

As one of the first batches of courses in UNNC, IS has cultivated numerous interdisciplinary talent familiar with international rules and capable of cross-cultural communication in the fields of foreign affairs, academic research, as well as NGOs and private sectors over the last decade. Among the 74 graduates of Class 2020, 63 chose to study further, with 63.5% entering world top 50 universities, many of which are universities with top-level international politics disciplines such as University of Oxford, London School of Economics and Political Science and Johns Hopkins University.
