Beverly Hills Facial Plastic Surgery Clinic Transitions to Accepting Cryptocurrency for Patient Procedures Beginning January 2022

LOS ANGELES--()--The blockchain, non-fungible tokens (NFT) and cryptocurrency are becoming increasingly mainstream with a growing number of companies allowing customers to use bitcoin and other tokens as an official method of payment for goods and services. In fact, research released in September by accounting firm Skynova shows that nearly a third of small business owners in the U.S already accept cryptocurrency.

Beginning January 2022, Dr. Babak Azizzadeh (Ah-ZEEZ-za-day) will begin accepting cryptocurrency as full or partial payment for cosmetic and reconstructive procedures at his Beverly Hills clinic - CENTER for Advanced Facial Plastic Surgery.

A world-renowned facial plastic surgeon, Dr. Azizzadeh has been witnessing the rise of cryptocurrency as a new form of payment that is gaining steam in the beauty world, especially when it comes to cosmetic procedures and luxury beauty products.

“Now is the time for my industry to accommodate patients who desire to use cryptocurrency for more and more of their day-to-day financial transactions and this is a direction that most businesses will need to move towards,” explains Dr. Azizzadeh. “Cryptocurrency is not just an investment tool for enthusiasts but a passion and cause. They want to be able to use it for goods and services as demonstrated by the story of Laszlo Hancyecz who in 2010 paid 10,000 bitcoins to be able to purchase two pizzas!”

Los Angeles is ranked as one of the highest of U.S. cities for 1) crypto-ATMs, 2) number of restaurants that accept crypto, and 3) number of local retailers that accept crypto. California’s Sacramento Kings are set to become the first major sports franchise to offer employees and players a bitcoin payment option. In addition, athletes, politicians, and everyday employees are now able to get all or part of their salary paid in crypto as well. The country of El Salvador has gone as far as adopting bitcoin as their currency.

“Now that there are reliable forms of digital wallets and a lot more transparency, it’s easier and safer than ever to accept cryptocurrency. Cryptocurrency and the blockchain backbone ARE the next phase of technology and will be a huge part of the way businesses will be utilizing in the future,” adds Dr. Azizzadeh.

While the main drawbacks are high volatility and fluctuating market rates, crypto payments and the ability to convert crypto into other digital assets are instantaneous and secure. Plus, they have the potential to both reduce transaction costs for merchants, and to reduce billions of dollars in fraudulent chargeback claims that are made each year on physical-card payment networks.

The Center for Advanced Facial Plastic Surgery opened in 2003 and offers a variety of services including surgical procedures for the face, nose, and facial paralysis while also offering non-surgical options as well.

Dr. Azizzadeh is a Harvard-trained, world-renowned plastic surgeon who specializes in facial rejuvenation, reconstructive surgeries, and complex facial nerve procedures. While in practice for over 20 years, he has become an internationally recognized expert in cosmetic and reconstructive facial plastic surgery.
