ETRI is actively involved in strategic technology licensing to move research innovations to public market. ETRI Holdings and ETRI’s internal technology licensing office (TLO) collaborate to incubate startups using ETRI technology until they are ready for IPO or M&A. Successful startup investments include Optella Inc. (https://www.cosemi.com/optella/), Syntekabio (www.syntekabio.com/eng/), Sugentech (www.sugentech.com/main.php), Genesystem (www.genesystem.co.kr/), and Minds Lab (mindslab.ai:8080/en).

To foster global collaboration, ETRI’s USA R&D center in Silicon Valley is actively seeking partnerships between Korea and leading players in the US. ETRI plans to present recent research and TLO activities in the US-Korea Conference (UKC2021, ukc.ksea.org/ukc2021/), which will be held December 15 – 18, 2021, in Garden Grove, near Los Angeles, California.
