O2 Investment Partners Announces Appointment of Derek Wardlaw, Head of Business Development

BLOOMFIELD HILLS, Mich.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--O2 Investment Partners (www.o2investment.com) is excited to announce the appointment of Derek Wardlaw as the firm’s lead in their newly formed Business Development Group. Luke Plumpton announced the addition, “Derek’s successful track record of building and developing a deal sourcing group will be instrumental to our growing origination efforts and to increase the visibility of O2 in the lower middle market deal community.”

Derek Wardlaw, as Vice President and Head of Business Development, will be responsible for sourcing investment opportunities and developing relationships with deal making entities across the lower middle market. “I was drawn to O2’s hands on, relationship-driven focus on deal sourcing and origination,” said Mr. Wardlaw. “I am excited to join the O2 team and contribute to the firm’s continued success in helping family/founder-owned companies meet their objectives and deliver results.”

Prior to joining the firm, Derek led Business Development at Boyne Capital in Miami, FL. Before Boyne Capital, Derek was the Director of Business Development at HIG Capital in London and prior to that focused on corporate divestitures in the Business Development group at HIG Capital in Miami. Derek holds a BS in Mathematics from Samford University in Birmingham, AL and an MBA from The George Washington University.
