UNIONDALE, N.Y.--()--Health Plus Management, a physician support organization (PSO) providing business management and operations services for independent physician practices specializing in musculoskeletal care, today announced the appointment of Walter J. LeStrange as Chief Operating Officer.

“Walter’s extensive experience as a senior-level executive in the administration of large and medium-sized practice management organizations will be an asset to HPM as we continue to build multiple brands within our musculoskeletal network,” said Stuart Blumberg, chief executive officer, Health Plus Management. “We welcome his vision and expertise as we continue to increase our service offering, to expand our network of physicians and administrative resources and to add prestigious practices aligned with our quality standards to our network. We welcome him to our executive team.”

Walter recently transitioned from his role as Chief Administrative Officer for Nuvance Health Medical Practice’s seven-hospital system, where he led practice transformation during the COVID pandemic, resulting in a $30M deficit reduction and the launch of a telemedicine program that ramped up to manage 3,000+ daily appointments. Additionally, he served as Operating Partner for Zenyth Partners private equity firm through which he supported operations for a variety of practice verticals across multiple therapeutic areas.

Prior to these roles, Walter spent more than 12 years at ProHEALTH, where he led an executive team to extraordinary growth both organically and through 200+ practice acquisitions, growing revenue more than ten-fold during his tenure and providing executive leadership to 30 sub-specialty service lines at more than 250 locations. In addition to other administrative roles, Walter began his career as an emergency room nurse at Bellevue Hospital Center in New York, where he advanced to Associate Director of Emergency Services before joining the New York University Medical Center as the administrator for its Department of Surgery.

“I am thrilled to be part of the HPM executive team and to leverage my expertise in growing businesses, developing relationships and shaping organizational culture to deliver on HPM’s vision to build multi-brands and support practice growth within its musculoskeletal network. I look forward to expanding our orthopedic and regenerative medicine offering while continuing to provide excellent service to our physiatry practices,” said Walter LeStrange, Chief Operating Officer, Health Plus Management. “The responsibilities of this role align very closely with my own core values to drive growth by working with physician practices to deliver quality and value for the benefit of healthcare providers and patients alike.”

HPM supports musculoskeletal physicians across all phases of growth, from the start-up and launch of new sites, to practice expansion and improvement of efficiencies within well-established practices. Designed to support physician owners, the HPM integrated business model provides a full range of non-medical operations services, including site selection and buildout, front and back office management, marketing, human resources support, technology and reporting.
