Mitsubishi Electric Introduces the CritiCool™ Product Line and the Launch of Its First Products

WARRENDALE, Pa.--()--Mitsubishi Electric, an industry leader in high efficiency, reliable, economically viable, eco-sustainable IT Cooling solutions, is pleased to announce the establishment of a new line of cooling products earmarked specifically for the North American mission critical market. The new product line, known as CritiCool™, is available through the Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS) Division of Mitsubishi Electric Power Products, Inc. (MEPPI), headquartered in Warrendale, PA. Concurrently with this announcement, MEPPI is launching the first products released in the CritiCool™ line, the DX-P Single Package Vertical Cooling System.

The innovative design of the DX-P models is a result of the 50+ years of Mitsubishi Electric’s experience in cooling solutions. Rather than modify devices designed for cooling spaces occupied by people (known as comfort cooling), the DX-P Cooling System models are designed specifically for cooling unoccupied modular structures that contain electrical and/or IT equipment that runs 24/7, such as auxiliary backup power supplies and battery energy storage systems. This design strategy enables the DX-P models to achieve a highly desirable Sensible Heat Ratio (SHR) of 1.0.

The DX-P models can be configured with an On/Off compressor or an inverter driven compressor for increased efficiency, and consist of 2 variations with nominal cooling capacities 37,800 Btu/h and 64,500 Btu/h (10 kW - 20 kW). Additionally, each model can be configured for either an up-flow or down-flow air delivery to fit various application needs. An Energy Efficiency Ratio (EER) of 11 and higher combined with an SHR of 1.0 will make the DX-P models a market leader in cooling efficiency.

MEPPI’s previously announced strategic alliance with Mitsubishi Electric Hydronics and IT Cooling Systems S.p.A. (MEHITS) coupled with the launch of the DX-P models leverages the individual strengths and capabilities of both organizations, resulting in synergistic and reliable solutions in the critical areas of power protection and cooling.
