AUSTIN, Texas--()--On September 28-29, Capital Factory, Texas’ top innovation and mentorship hub for technology entrepreneurs, will host the #1 defense innovation event in the country — Fed Supernova — with sessions online and live onsite. Fed Supernova is the only event that exists specifically to bridge the Valley of Death between commercial technology and Department of Defense (DoD) programs.

“Last year, startups at Capital Factory received $110 million in non-dilutive funding through the Department of Defense. Most of them had never worked with the government before and don’t think of themselves as defense contractors,” said Capital Factory CEO Joshua Baer. “At Capital Factory, we know the power of serendipity. We create the right environment for entrepreneurs to connect to the investors, customers, and talent they need to succeed.”

With Amazon Web Services, Deloitte, and IBM — among others — as event partners, Fed Supernova attracts entrepreneurs, investors, government leaders, and industry experts from across the country who want to be part of bringing new technology to the DoD. The event features more than 120 influential speakers, including:

  • Brig. Gen. Stephanie Ahern, director of concepts at Army Futures Command
  • Aaron Swain, strategic director of digital transformation at VMware
  • Dr. Richard Benson, president of University of Texas at Dallas
  • Joe Lonsdale, general partner at 8VC

Anyone interested in defense innovation can register for Fed Supernova to access thought-provoking sessions from the U.S. Air Force, U.S. Army, U.S. Navy, National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA), National Security Innovation Network (NSIN), Defense Innovation Unit (DIU), and more. This two-day conference helps cultivate and propel government modernization by creating an uncommon opportunity for the entire ecosystem to converge in the same place, at the same time, and with a shared purpose.
