Plenty Hires New Grow Director to Oversee Crop Nutrition and Protection

Gerardo Navarro Spamer’s 20 years of Global Experience in Agricultural Engineering will Help Plenty Grow More Delicious Produce at its Indoor Vertical Farms

SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Plenty, the flavor-first vertical farming company with a mission to improve the lives of people, plants, and the planet, today announced the appointment of Gerardo Navarro Spamer to Grow Director. In this role, Gerardo will manage Plenty’s grow teams in both San Francisco and Compton, California, while working closely with R&D and Farm DevOps teams to optimize all aspects of plant growth.

Before joining Plenty, Spamer managed technical, production and operational greenhouse activities in the USA, Europe, New Zealand and Mexico. He served as agricultural engineer at Windset Farms in California, where he managed over 30 acres of highly technified hydroponic greenhouses. Previous experience includes Naturesweet, EuroFresh and Pepsico International.

Gerardo received his Bachelor of Science in agricultural engineering from Monterrey Tech in Mexico and his Master of Science in vegetable production from the University of Almeria in Spain.
