The Standard’s 2021 Volunteer Expo Will Connect More Than 120 Nonprofits With Volunteers

September 9th Volunteer Expo will show Oregonians how to support their community during a crucial time

PORTLAND, Ore.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Standard’s Volunteer Expo is virtual this year, featuring more than 120 nonprofits online September 9th from 9 a.m. to noon.

Representatives from Portland-area nonprofits will be available to connect Oregonians with safe volunteer opportunities. There are options to volunteer online or in person, one time or more, for all ages, abilities and interests.

“We’re so excited to be offering the 13th annual Volunteer Expo online,” said Dan McMillan, president and chief executive officer at The Standard. "Last year’s virtual experience was a great success, connecting Oregonians with new volunteer opportunities during a time when our community needed it more than ever. Our nonprofit partners still need volunteers and still need you, so please join us Sept. 9 at standard.com/volunteer to find out how to help."

For more than a decade, The Standard has been hosting the Volunteer Expo to provide ways for volunteers and nonprofits to connect. The Standard has long been committed to supporting organizations that make a positive difference in the community.

Participating nonprofits represent the arts, culture, humanities, the environment, animal welfare, health, human services and more. Some of the organizations include Portland Piano International, Smart Reading and Children's Healing Art Project.

The Standard’s Volunteer Expo is the largest in Portland. This event kicks off The Standard’s annual Employee Giving Campaign, which encourages employees to support nonprofit organizations of their choosing. Last year, employees and retirees from The Standard gave nearly $6 million dollars (including The Standard’s dollar-for-dollar match) to support 2,200 organizations and schools.
