MOUNT LAUREL, N.J.--()--Array Behavioral Care, the largest telepsychiatry practice in the country and a thought leader in modern behavioral health care, has been chosen as the exclusive national telebehavioral health partner of Hall of Fame of Behavioral Health, an affiliate of The Pro Football Hall of Fame. Along with the partnership, Array has joined Hall of Fame Behavioral Health’s Centers of Excellence, a nationwide network of elite facilities that provide the highest quality of care to former players and their families.

With this new partnership, current and former pro football athletes, their families, as well as coaches, trainers, agents, and other professionals, now have access to Array’s telehealth services, which include secure, online video calls with a psychiatrist, nurse practitioner, counselor or therapist matched to their needs. Array’s clinicians will provide online psychiatric evaluations, counseling, therapy, and medication management, among other services. Additionally, Array’s behavioral health specialists will serve as telebehavioral experts for Hall of Fame Behavioral Health educational events and promotions.

“Being a professional athlete in the public eye comes with a host of stressors on individuals’ mental health. Unfortunately, a huge barrier to access is the stigma associated with an athlete admitting that their mental health may not match their physical health,” said Wes Cain, President & CEO of Hall of Fame Behavioral Health. “We chose Array as our telebehavioral care partner for their commitment to mental health care destigmatization, access, and quality, not just for athletes, but also for their families and support systems.”

Over the course of 2021, athletes across all sports have led a shift of making mental health more relatable. Athletes on the world stage, from Naomi Osaka to Simon Biles to Noah Lyles, have bravely spoken up about their mental health struggles and why a healthy mind is undeniably connected to a fulfilling life on and off the field of competition. They have used their professional and personal platforms to spark candid conversations about the importance of mental health and well-being. Array seeks to build on this momentum through its partnership with Hall of Fame Behavioral Health by extending its mission of transforming access to quality, timely behavioral health care to all individuals affiliated with The Pro Football Hall of Fame, empowering them with the tools they need to overcome mental health obstacles and achieve purpose, balance, and fulfillment in their lives.

“A healthy mind is undeniably connected to a healthy body. Stress, substances, self-doubt, stigma, and scarcity of access to quality care can impede even the strongest athletes’ ability to achieve wellness. On top of that, those who live at home with them or work with them professionally are often subject to similar challenges,” said Dr. Nicole Christian-Brathwaite, a double board-certified adult and child and adolescent psychiatrist and Array’s Senior Vice President and Medical Director of Scheduled Care and AtHome. “We’ve teamed up with Hall of Fame Behavioral Health because we share a common goal to break down barriers preventing athletes and their support systems from achieving the mental wellness they deserve.”

To kick off the new partnership, Dr. Nicole Christian-Brathwaite and Marlene McDermott, an Array LMFT serving children, adolescents, and adults spoke at Enshrinement Week August 5-9, 2021 to educate athletes and their families on mental health topics and their exclusive access to Array’s telebehavioral health services. Athletes and Pro Football Hall of Fame affiliates interested in finding an Array clinician matched to their needs can get started now. Visit Array’s website for more information about Array AtHome.
