AM Best to Present Insurance Industry Trends, Criteria Updates at Annual Canada Market Briefing

OLDWICK, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--AM Best’s Canada Insurance Market Briefing will take place as three complimentary webinars on Sept. 15-16, 2021, featuring AM Best senior executives and industry leaders presenting their insights and opinions on the state of the Canadian insurance market.

  • “Emerging from the Shadow of COVID-19” will take place Sept. 15, at 2:00 p.m. (EDT), during which AM Best analysts will review the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on Canada’s property/casualty and life/health insurance markets and economy. The session also will explore recent trends in Canada as highlighted in the rating agency’s annual market segment report, along with factors that could affect insurers as the country re-opens and AM Best’s outlook for the balance of 2021.
  • Also on Sept. 15, “AM Best’s Criteria Updates & Initiatives” will present recent AM Best updates relevant to rated insurers. Topics include AM Best’s evaluation of environmental, social and governance (ESG) factors within the ratings process, recently published ESG research studies, Best’s Performance Assessment for Delegated Underwriting Authority Enterprises (Best’s PA for DUAEs) and other recent publications. The presentation is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. (EDT).
  • The final webinar, “Canada 2021 Hot Topics Panel Discussion,” will take place Sept. 16, at 2:00 p.m. (EDT). During this event, market experts, including Matt Wolfe, president, AON Reinsurance Solutions Canada, and AM Best analysts will examine significant and emerging industry issues that will influence the Canadian insurance market in the near future.
