STEMscopes Curriculum Solutions Named SIIA Education Technology 2021 CODiE Award Finalists in Three Categories

HOUSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Accelerate Learning today announced that two products from its STEMscopes suite of STEM curriculum offerings have been named finalists in the 2021 SIIA CODiE Awards. STEMscopes Coding is a finalist in the Best Coding and Computational Thinking Solution category. STEMscopes NGSS 3D was named a finalist in two categories, Best Foundational Science Instructional Solution and Best Advanced Science Instructional Solution.

Acknowledged as the premier awards program for the software and information industries for over 35 years, the SIIA CODiE Awards are produced by the Software & Information Industry Association (SIIA), the principal trade association for the software, education, media, financial information and digital content industries. STEMscopes NGSS 3D and STEMscopes Coding are among 152 finalists across the 42 education technology categories.

Powered by Bitsbox, STEMscopes Coding walks students and teachers through the process of creating and sharing digital apps. Unlike other coding programs that simulate the process with block-based learning, STEMscopes Coding allows students to type their JavaScript code for a hands-on, personalized experience. They can create their own games, simulations, and storytelling apps with graphics, animation, interactivity, and sound.

STEMscopes NGSS 3D is a phenomena-based STEM curriculum that provides teachers with everything they need to address the Disciplinary Core Ideas, Crosscutting Concepts, and Science and Engineering Practices that form each standard of the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS). It includes customizable, coherent, storyline-driven bundles that immerse students in overarching phenomena while linking the three dimensions across lesson modules.

“The CODiE Awards recognize the most transformative products in Ed Tech,” said Jeff Joseph, SIIA president. “This year, these leaders helped our nation respond to the historic pandemic, enabling learners, educators, administrators and parents to remain connected to each other and to critical educational resources via innovative services and platforms. Congratulations to this year’s finalists for demonstrating the vitality, resilience and importance of this important industry.”
