Trinity Investments Hires Citi Private Bank’s Marc Rucinski and Casey Wilson to Lead Capital Raising and Investor Relations Functions

HONOLULU--()--Trinity Real Estate Investments LLC (“Trinity”), a leading private real estate investment firm, is pleased to announce that alternative investments and capital markets specialists Marc Rucinski and Casey Wilson have joined the firm as Managing Director and Vice President, respectively, of Product Development and Investor Relations. In these roles, they will focus on expanding Trinity’s investor base by bringing new investment opportunities and products to limited partners and strategic co-investors around the globe.

Rucinski and Wilson join Trinity from Citi Private Bank where they worked as members of Citi’s global investment management team over the past decade to source and structure private investment opportunities on behalf of ultra-high-net worth and family office investors around the world. Rucinski and Wilson most recently served as Asia Pacific Head of Private Equity and Real Estate and Senior Vice President, respectively, and were responsible for overseeing over $5.2 billion of investments across 40 funds and co-investments. At Trinity, they will use their knowledge, experience and vast network of relationships to broaden the firm’s product offerings and launch new investment strategies over time. These efforts will enable Trinity to fully leverage its expertise investing in markets and asset classes across North America, Asia and Europe, advancing the firm’s evolution from a deal-by-deal investor to a global fund manager.

“Marc and Casey are two of the most talented investment professionals that I have ever had the pleasure of working with,” said Lee Neibart, Chairman and Senior Partner at Trinity. “I have always been impressed by their in-depth understanding of the capital markets and how they’re able to consistently structure real estate investment vehicles that are well received by a range of institutional and high net worth investors. Their commercial real estate experience spans all asset classes, and I have no doubt that their contributions will have an outsized positive impact on the firm as we transition into a global fund manager.”

While at Citi Private Bank, Rucinski served on Citi’s Global Alternative Investment Oversight Committee, which was responsible for approving over 80 global real estate and private equity funds, separately managed accounts, co-investments and club structures that raised over $18 billion in capital commitments from Citi clients since 2010. He was also a member of Citi Private Bank’s Collections fund-of-funds investment committee with $1.0 billion in assets under management and served on 14 third-party advisory boards. Prior to his role in Asia, Rucinski was the former Citi Private Bank Co-head of Americas Real Estate based in New York. Together, Rucinski and Wilson bring to Trinity extensive expertise creating investment vehicles that resonate with pension funds, sovereign wealth funds, insurance companies, family offices, endowments and foundations.

“Over the years we have worked with Trinity, Casey and I have been impressed by the team’s ability to consistently deliver strong performance across all market cycles,” said Rucinski. “We have seen the team’s consistent approach to acquiring assets at favorable pricing, cutting costs, improving operations and increasing revenue to drive NOI unlocking value for investors. We could not be more excited to join this group of world-class investors who are one of private real estate investing’s most dynamic firms.”

Rucinski and Wilson spent a combined 30 years on Wall Street at bulge bracket investment banks including Credit Suisse, Merrill Lynch and Barclays in addition to Citibank. They have significant experience advising public and private executive management teams and company boards on buy and sell side mergers and acquisitions, capital raising and financial strategy. Over the course of their respective careers, Rucinski and Wilson have executed more than $60 billion in public and private real estate and private equity transactions.

“Marc and I are bringing a skillset that is highly complementary to advancing Trinity’s next phase of growth,” said Wilson. “While the investment team continues do what it does best – source and acquire investments and produce attractive risk-adjusted returns for investors – we will provide limited partners access to these opportunities by building out Trinity’s product offerings and expanding its capital relationships.”

Trinity is recognized for executing some of the hospitality industry’s largest and most recognizable trades including the Grande Lakes Orlando Resort, the JW Marriott Phoenix Desert Ridge Resort & Spa, and the Hilton Los Cabos Beach & Golf Resort. Over its 25-year history, Trinity has executed a variety of investment strategies across various asset classes and through multiple economic and real estate cycles. Its track record and operating expertise are why many of the world’s largest investment managers, including Oaktree Capital Management, Ares Management, and Elliott Management choose to invest with the firm.

Sean Hehir, Managing Partner, President and Chief Executive Officer of Trinity, commented, “These strategic hires are a key part of our broader plan to continue to grow and diversify Trinity’s capabilities and investor base. Together, we are even better positioned to tap into our full range of expertise to capitalize on compelling investment opportunities across markets, asset classes and geographies.”
