WHITE PLAINS, N.Y.--()--Lifting Up Westchester, a non-profit agency committed to helping individuals restore their independence, announced that husband and wife Matt Darnall and Kathleen Kiernan will be honored at its Community of Hope virtual gala and live auction on Thursday, April 22nd at 8:00pm. Matt Darnall is the Lead Developer at Element Capital, a long-time supporter of Lifting Up Westchester and a sponsor of this year’s gala.

“We are grateful to Lifting Up Westchester for the incredible work they do on behalf of our community. And we are thrilled that Matt and Kathleen are being honored by Lifting Up Westchester. Matt is brilliant at finding creative solutions to challenging problems and it is no surprise that he applies his skills and commitment to making our community better for everyone. Element is honored to support Matt and Lifting Up Westchester’s important work,” said Oren Eisner, President of the Jeffrey M. Talpins Foundation.

“When the pandemic started, our greatest concern was ensuring services continued to those most in need, like those in LUW’s shelters and food distribution programs. Looking forward, we are excited about LUW’s other programs that help improve the education of at-risk youth as well as sustainably lift people out of homelessness,” said Matt Darnall, Element Capital Lead Developer and LUW honoree.

“We are grateful to leaders like Jeffrey Talpins who have been the driving force behind the charitable efforts of their company,” said Anahaita N. Kotval, CEO of Lifting Up Westchester. “Matt and Kathleen have devoted their talent and resources to help individuals who have fallen on hard times and we are grateful for the opportunity to honor them for their commitment to our community.”

About Lifting Up Westchester

Lifting Up Westchester is a 501(c) 3 nonprofit supporting our neighbors in crisis by restoring the foundation necessary for them to rebuild their lives. Each year, we permanently change the lives of 3,500 men, women, and children by finding them stable housing, food, income, and other support systems to allow them to maintain an improved quality of life.

When the community supports the well-being of all our Westchester neighbors, we make sure everyone can reach their potential and fully contribute to our community. We demonstrate that our interdependence upon each other makes our community thrive and prosper.

Lifting Up Westchester (LUW) helps build the reservoir of support necessary for our Westchester neighbors to flourish. We are here not only to repair well-being when it starts to breakdown but also to construct a strong foundation to maintain this well-being over time.

For four decades as one of the county’s largest social service nonprofits, we make sure that all our neighbors in need have critical resources like nutritious food, stable housing, access to healthcare and education, and the strong support systems they need to regain their independence.

We believe lifting individuals leads to stronger communities, a stronger economy, and a stronger society.
