CINCINNATI--(BUSINESS WIRE)--ProAmpac, a global leader in flexible packaging, announced that two facilities have received Annual Safety Awards from The Paper Shipping Sack Manufacturers’ Association (PSSMA).

  • ProAmpac’s Kansas City, Mo. facility received the PSSMA 2020 Award for Outstanding Plant Annual Safety Improvement in the 225,000 – 310,000 Manhours Category. This is based on the greatest decrease in the total incidence rate between 2019 and 2020.

“I want to congratulate you and your team for doing your part to make 2020 an outstanding year for safety in the multiwall industry,” said Greg Storat, PSSMA president.

“Our sites work very hard each day, and this award is a validation of the teams’ efforts in their relentless pursuit of safety and excellence. The recognition from PSSMA for our teams’ performance among their industry peers is a fantastic recognition for their hard work and focus,” added Mark Allan, general manager for ProAmpac Chicagoland and Pet.

Rob Manning, ProAmpac’s vice president of quality observed, “The receipt of the PSSMA awards follows our recent announcement that five other facilities were certified to the Safe Quality Food (SQF) program, recognized globally by retailers, brand owners, and food service organizations for quality.”

Dedicated to flexible packaging, ProAmpac draws from a range of paper and plastic materials, with an increasing focus on advanced sustainability characteristics.

Established in 2015, ProAmpac has grown to 38 sites globally, with 4,900 employees supplying more than 5,000 customers in 90 countries. Such expansion has been accompanied by increased recognition by and certifications from industry associations and other authorities, such as International Organization for Standardization (ISO); the Global Food Safety Initiative’s SQF and BRC food certifications, as well as other organizations.
