William Blair Adds Veteran Investment Banker Scott Paton to Financial Sponsors Team

CHICAGO & BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--William Blair, the premier global boutique with expertise in investment banking, investment management, and private wealth management, today announced that veteran investment banker Scott Paton joined the firm’s global investment banking team as a managing director in the Financial Sponsors Group. He brings more than 25 years of investment banking and private equity experience throughout North America and Europe. Paton joins a global team of 20 financial sponsor coverage and advisory professionals to continue their strong momentum and leadership in the private equity market.

Paton will be based in the firm’s Boston office. He was most recently a managing director and group head of Financial Sponsors Coverage at SunTrust Robinson Humphrey. Paton previously was a managing director and group head of Financial Sponsors Coverage at Oppenheimer/CIBC. Paton also has direct principal investment experience as a co-founder of CapVest Limited in London, and as a director with BT Capital Partners Europe. He received his M.B.A. from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business and a B.A. in American history from Harvard University.
