Slate Office REIT Completes Normal Course Debt Refinancings

TORONTO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Slate Office REIT (TSX: SOT.UN) (the "REIT"), an owner and operator of North American office real estate, announced today that it has completed C$395.7 million and US$161.1 million of debt refinancing of its revolver and certain term loans.

“The execution of these normal course refinancings demonstrates the confidence our lenders have in the REIT’s business and the broader Slate Asset Management platform,” said Steve Hodgson, Chief Executive Officer of Slate Office REIT. “These transactions strengthen our balance sheet, improve our debt maturity profile and position us for growth.”

  • Completes the refinancing of all 2020 debt maturities and the majority of 2021 debt maturities while maintaining the REIT’s current overall leverage ratio
  • Maintains the REIT’s low cost of borrowing with an all-in weighted average interest rate of 2.9% on these transactions
