Riverbed Appoints Shaun Bierweiler to SVP, Public Sector

SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Riverbed announced today the appointment of Shaun Bierweiler to Senior Vice President for Public Sector. Bierweiler will lead Riverbed’s Public Sector organization, reporting into COO and head of sales Dan Smoot, and oversee the company’s business focused on its federal, state and local government customers.

Bierweiler most recently served as president of Cloudera Government Solutions, Inc. and Vice President and General Manager of Public Sector at Cloudera. Prior to joining Cloudera, Bierweiler was President of Hortonworks Federal, Inc. and Vice President of U.S. Public Sector at Hortonworks. He has also held leadership roles at Red Hat and Raytheon.

Bierweiler holds a Bachelor of Science, in Computer Engineering from the University of Florida and earned his Master of Business Administration, from the University of Maryland.
