Standard Chartered Earns Great Place to Work Certification in the United States

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Standard Chartered United States has been Great Place to Work-Certified™. Using validated employee feedback gathered with Great Place to Work’s rigorous, data-driven For All methodology, the certification found that 85 percent of Bank employees surveyed say Standard Chartered is a Great Place to Work. This exceeds the benchmark of 59 percent of employees at typical U.S.-based companies.

Great Place to Work® is an internationally recognized body that sets the standard for true workplace experience. This is the first year the Bank participated in the survey, with the majority of staff members who completed the survey saying that it is a great place to work.

93 percent of the Bank employees noted that they feel good about the ways the Bank contributes to the community, and 92 percent of staff surveyed felt appreciative of the organization’s focus on work-life balance. Other highlights include how the Bank creates a welcoming environment for new joiners (90 percent) and how 89 percent think that the management team is honest and ethical in its business practices.

"We are proud to receive this certification. The recognition reflects the collective achievement of our talented colleagues who make up our unique work environment and is testament to everyone’s commitment to a diverse and inclusive workplace,” said Torry Berntsen, CEO and Head of Corporate and Institutional Banking, Americas at Standard Chartered. “We look forward to going from strength to strength in how we engage our workforce and strongly believe that this will enable us to continuously exceed client expectations in all that we do.”

"We congratulate Standard Chartered on their Certification," said Sarah Lewis-Kulin, Vice President of Best Workplace List Research at Great Place to Work. "Organizations that earn their employees' trust create great workplace cultures that deliver outstanding business results."
