Outlook on the Polyamide Resins Global Market to 2026 - Motivators, Restraints and Opportunities - ResearchAndMarkets.com

DUBLIN--()--The "Polyamide Resins Market 2020-2026" report has been added to ResearchAndMarkets.com's offering.

The global polyamide resins market is estimated to witness significant growth during the forecast period. Potential applications of polyamide resins in automotive and electrical and electronics industry is the major factor driving the growth of the market. Polyamide 6,6 has been a material of choice in electronic connectors.

However, polyamide 4,6 is finding its application as electronic connectors are gradually exposed to high temperatures owing to the continued advances in lead-free soldering in the industry. Such high-temperature soldering operations need connector materials that are stable minimum 230 C. Currently available connectors have higher pin counts compared to the past, which requires better flow and improved weld-line strength.

There is also a better pitch between pins, which requires connector materials with exceptional weld-line strength, high flow, and high mechanical strength. In several cases, polyamide 4,6 fulfils all these needs. Polyamide filled with electrically conductive materials can offer electrostatic discharge (ESD), antistatic, and electromagnetic interference/ radio frequency interference (EMI/RFI) shielding for electronic devices, as well as for conveyor systems and trays used in the production of semiconductor chips. Typical fillers in this application comprise stainless steel fiber, carbon fiber, nickel-coated carbon fiber, and carbon powder. Therefore, any grade of polyamide can be used in EMI/RFI and ESD protection.

Geographically, Asia-Pacific represents a considerable share in the market owing to the increasing demand for engineering thermoplastics coupled with the increasing electronics manufacturing base in the region. Further, increasing automotive production has been reported in the region. As per the India Brand Equity Foundation (IBEF), domestic production of automobiles grew at 2.36% CAGR during the period, 2016-2020 with 26.4 million vehicles being produced in the country in 2020. Foreign automobile companies are expanding their production base in the country. For instance, in December 2019, a British automobile brand, Morris Garages (MG), declared plans to invest an additional $429.3 million in India. This, in turn, will likely accelerate the demand for polyamide resins in the country as it offers superior mechanical properties and flexibility.
