SAN FRANCISCO--()--Asana, a leading work management platform for teams, today announced the release of Dashboards, delivering new ways for teams to view and report on their progress with just a click. Asana’s intelligent Dashboards feature charts with data pulled from projects, giving leaders a clear view into their team’s work without having to chase down information or attend in-person status meetings.

According to Asana’s Anatomy of Work Index, the average knowledge worker spends 60 percent of their day on “work about work”, including searching for information, communicating project updates and chasing down deliverables. Furthermore, the report found that over 10 percent of an employee’s day - over 200 hours per year - is spent on tasks that have already been completed.

“When we rely on antiquated tools like email and spreadsheets that were never designed for collaborative work, we increase ‘work about work’ – duplicating existing, frequently changing information, calling unnecessary status meetings, and compiling time-consuming status reports that go unread at 4pm on a Friday afternoon,” said Paige Costello, a product leader at Asana. “Now that employees can no longer rely on traditional methods of communication like in-person meetings or desk drive-bys, teams are depending on new ways to align asynchronously. Asana Dashboards give team leads the tools they need to understand and communicate a project’s status at any point in a matter of minutes - eliminating manual reporting and freeing up time for strategic work.”

Introducing Asana Dashboards

Asana Dashboards are designed so that leaders can quickly visualize where work stands and if a project needs additional attention. Fueled by intelligent reporting, Dashboards feature multiple, customizable charts that auto-populate with project insights in real-time, including how many tasks are overdue and if someone on the team is overloaded. Dashboards deliver a bird’s eye view on project progress and makes reporting more accurate and easier than ever – with no coding, no search queries and no unnecessary hours wasted on status updates.

Asana Dashboards feature five chart options including:

  • Bar chart: View tasks by section or custom field to understand where in your team’s process there are efficiencies and potential bottlenecks.
  • Donut chart: Get a quick pulse on complete, incomplete, and overdue tasks.
  • Lollipop chart: View how work is distributed across your team.
  • Burnup chart: Track your team’s velocity over time and how quickly your teammates are completing work.
  • Numeric roll ups: Sum up any numeric custom fields (e.g. budgets, costs, team hours)

Combining Dashboards with Asana's recently launched Status offering provides everyone, from individual contributors to organizational leaders, with the essential insights they need most, whether it's project progress at a glance or communicating the results of a major company-wide initiative. In addition, Dashboard charts can be downloaded and shared via email, in an upcoming stakeholder update or as part of a team presentation.
