Dow named one of the 2020 PEOPLE’S “50 Companies That Care” by Great Place to Work® and PEOPLE

MIDLAND, Mich.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dow (NYSE: DOW) has been named as one of the 2020 PEOPLE's "50 Companies that Care" by Great Place to Work® and PEOPLE. The annual list will be featured in the September 14 issue of PEOPLE, which will be available on newsstands September 4.

Rankings represent the experience of more than 4.7 million working U.S. citizens. PEOPLE partnered with Great Place to Work, a global people analytics and consulting firm, to analyze employees’ survey feedback on how their workplaces make a difference in their lives and communities. This year specifically focused on how companies responded to the COVID-19 pandemic to take care of their employees, their communities, and the world. Dow ranked 31 on the list.

“Dow’s focus during the COVID-19 pandemic has been on three areas: leveraging our innovation and technology to address critical supply shortages, reinforcing our commitment to resilient communities and supporting Team Dow,” said Dow’s Chief Human Resources Officer and Chief Inclusion Officer Karen S. Carter. “We are honored to receive this recognition, and even in these uncertain times, we remain focused on our people and maintaining a culture of care.”

The PEOPLE’s “50 Companies that Care” stand out for stepping up as leaders during an unprecedented time in modern history.

“At Dow, we are driven by a desire to improve the world around us, and we believe in putting people first,” said Jim Fitterling, Dow’s chairman and CEO. “This culture is what has enabled Team Dow to adapt and take action, responding to the needs of all our stakeholders – our investors, colleagues, customers and communities.”

During the pandemic, Dow retooled assets to help address critical supply shortages of personal protective equipment and hand sanitizer, provided financial contributions and in-kind product donations, and acted to protect the safety and overall wellbeing of team members.

“Best workplaces like Dow are showing up for their employees and communities during this unprecedented time and they’re able to do this because of the strong investments in their cultures leading up to this point,” said Michael C. Bush, CEO of Great Place to Work. “Having a foundation of trust has allowed these businesses to find innovative responses to COVID-19.”
