Kyruus Launches Online Consumer Scheduling for Virtual Care Visits

ProviderMatch DirectBook Enhancement Helps Health Systems Boost Awareness of and Access to Virtual Care Options

BOSTON--()--Kyruus, the leader in provider search and scheduling solutions for health systems, today announced the availability of online scheduling for virtual care visits within its Kyruus ProviderMatch® for Consumers solution for health system websites. The enhancement builds on the company’s award-winning scheduling solution with the ability for consumers to see which providers offer virtual visits, view available appointments, and book virtual visits online. Accessible within ProviderMatch for both new and existing patients, the new capabilities help health systems raise awareness of their virtual care offerings, capture consumer demand for virtual care, and streamline scheduling processes.

Demand for virtual care has skyrocketed during the COVID-19 pandemic with 72% of consumers in a recent survey saying they had their first-ever virtual visit in 2020. The survey also revealed that, while most consumers booked their visits by phone, 54% would prefer to schedule online in the future, including 72% of Gen Xers and 64% of Millennials. With the virtual visit scheduling addition to ProviderMatch DirectBook, a solution that enables health systems to offer direct scheduling into EHRs from ProviderMatch, consumers can easily filter search results based on virtual visit options, choose a convenient appointment slot, and book online with a provider or care site, such as an urgent care clinic.

“As the pandemic progressed, it was essential for us to not only expand patient access to virtual visits, but also make it simple for patients to book them,” said Joe Diver, Director of Digital Transformation at Baystate Health. “With Kyruus, we were able to act quickly to both surface virtual visit options in ProviderMatch and enable online scheduling with our urgent care centers.”

The virtual care scheduling launch builds on Kyruus’ release last year of a virtual care profile that health systems can display like a provider profile in consumer search results. Customers can configure this profile to appear for customized search terms (e.g., cough, coronavirus) and deploy a call-to-action button on it to direct consumers to an internal or third-party landing page for more information or access to on-demand virtual visits.

“Enabling our customers to pivot quickly has been the central theme of our COVID-19 response,” said Chris Gervais, Chief Technology Officer at Kyruus. “Just like our customers, we’ve adapted our digital roadmap in the face of the pandemic and we’re thrilled to now be enabling patients, providers, and health systems alike to benefit from an online scheduling option for this increasingly important mode of care delivery.”
