INDIANAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--HKW, a middle-market private equity firm, today announced Daniel Kim has joined the firm as Partner. Mr. Kim was co-founder and former partner at Bregal Sagemount, a New York-based growth capital investment firm. He will join Jeff Bistrong, hired by HKW in April, to spearhead HKW’s expanding focus in the technology sector. Over the course of his career, Mr. Kim has built an extensive track record investing in high-growth technology companies.

Prior to Bregal Sagemount, Mr. Kim held roles within Goldman, Sachs & Co.’s Americas Special Situations Group, where he led investments in the technology sector. He also previously worked as an investment professional at JMI Equity, sourcing and executing investments in the software, internet, and business services sectors.

Mr. Kim, based in HKW’s New York office, received an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BS in Biological Sciences and a BA in Music, Phi Beta Kappa, from Stanford University.
