Sigma Computing Names Orla Clifford Vice President of Operations

Clifford to Optimize Operations, Drive Scalability, and Support Rapid Growth

SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sigma Computing, an innovator in cloud-native analytics and business intelligence (A&BI), announced today the appointment of operations leader Orla Clifford as its first vice president of operations. Her appointment coincides with Sigma’s increasing momentum and need to rapidly scale as demand grows for empowering all employees with secure, governed access to data and enabling a community-driven approach to A&BI at enterprise companies. Clifford joins a trio of accomplished female leaders, VP of Marketing Cristina Bravo Olmo, VP of Engineering Latha Colby, and VP of User Experience and Design Julie Lemieux, to bring gender parity to Sigma’s executive team.

“The intense need for a better way to access and analyze data means our customer base is growing across a wide range of industries from technology to financial services and supply chain management, to name a few,” said Sigma Computing CEO Mike Palmer. “Balancing product innovation against the needs of a growing and diverse set of use cases makes operations and scalability top priorities for Sigma right now. Orla’s track record of driving results and increasing revenue with an eye to the customer experience will accelerate our ability to meet both internal and customer goals. We are so pleased to have Orla join the team.”

Clifford joins Sigma from Druva where she served as vice president of pricing and operations. The company surpassed $100 million in annual recurring revenue (ARR) and marked multiple milestones reflective of the company’s rapid growth during Clifford’s tenure. She previously served as the chief of staff and vice president of business operations at Veritas Technologies LLC.

“I am thrilled to be joining a company with such a clear vision for what can be accomplished if everyone has access to the data they need and the ability to explore it themselves,” said Sigma Computing Vice President of Operations Orla Clifford. “Sigma is poised to upend the way companies approach business intelligence, helping them capitalize on all the benefits the cloud has to offer and transform business intelligence into a community-driven process where everyone is able to contribute their unique talents and knowledge to uncover new insights that improve the business. I am excited to be able to apply my own expertise at Sigma during this stage of growth and help the company optimize operations and improve the customer experience.”

At Sigma Computing, Clifford is responsible for incorporating a customer-first perspective into all operations and driving growth based on customer needs. She will lean on her extensive experience in operations, pricing, and planning to drive growth and scale to support Sigma's growing list of customers comprising a variety of industries and market segments. Clifford will lead business operations, strategic planning, and manage budgets for cross-functional teams, creating the capacity for ongoing innovation.

Sigma has raised $58M in venture capital and was included on the coveted CNBC 2019 Upstart 100 List, the San Francisco Business Times and Silicon Valley Business Journal’s Best Places to Work 2020 list, and Inc.’s Best Workplaces 2020 list. The company’s cloud A&BI solution earned the 2020 DEVIES Award for Best Innovation in Enterprise Solutions and the Strata Data Award for Most Innovative Product in 2019.
