Orthopaedic Institute for Children Celebrates Children’s Day Every Day With Its Dedication to Children’s Health

LOS ANGELES--()--At Orthopaedic Institute for Children, every day is Children’s Day. On June 14, OIC joins the world in this commitment and celebrates National Children’s Day, promoting the belief that children across the globe have the right to health, education and love.

“Children deserve the best possible care and the best possible world we can provide them,” said OIC President and CEO Anthony Scaduto, M.D. “It is all part of our belief that all children, everywhere—on Children’s Day and every day—should have the opportunity to achieve their very best—to grow well and play well. This is the motivation behind all that we do.”

Established by the United Nations in 1954, Children’s Day in the United States is commemorated each June to promote the safety and welfare of all children, including those who experience injury from accidents, violence or abuse. Committed to this belief throughout the year is OIC, the largest orthopaedic facility on the west coast dedicated to providing outstanding care for children with musculoskeletal injuries and disorders. Its physicians and staff are specially trained to address and support children’s distinct needs and advance pediatric medical education and scientific research worldwide.

In its ongoing passion to enhance patient care for children, the institute has undergone an incredible transformation of its downtown Los Angeles campus as part of its “Vision for Our Future” campaign, which is designed to equip OIC physicians and staff with the best facilities to care for children with musculoskeletal conditions.

Earlier this year OIC opened The Ahmanson Foundation Fracture Center, one of the nation’s largest pediatric orthopaedic fracture centers, as well as a new orthopaedic rehabilitation center. Additionally, in 2019 OIC opened its doors to the city’s most modern urgent care center for children providing on-the-spot treatment by a team of orthopaedic experts.

“These enhancements to our campus have all been designed to allow us to treat kids more efficiently and enrich the patient experience for both children and their families,” said OIC Medical Director Mauricio Silva, M.D. “All of this activity emerges from our belief that children are entitled to a future where they can live happy, healthy lives—where their growth and recovery are priority not only on Children’s Day but every day.”
