Ecolab Closes on Sale of Holchem Group Limited

ST. PAUL, Minn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Ecolab Inc. today closed on the sale of Holchem Group Limited, a U.K.-based supplier of hygiene and cleaning products and services, to Kersia, a biosecurity and food safety company.

Ecolab’s acquisition of Holchem in December 2018 was subject to clearance by the U.K. Competition and Markets Authority (CMA), and the CMA ruled against the acquisition. Both businesses continued to operate separately during the CMA’s review.

The CMA has approved Kersia’s acquisition of Holchem from Ecolab.

Holchem’s 2018 sales were approximately £47 million ($57 million). No further details were announced.
